A.J. went through every room in our apartment, asked us a lot of questions about what we needed to do in the apartment (e.g. my husband needs office space, I need sewing space, etc) provided us with suggestions on how to re-organize our stuff, and actually went through and cleaned out a closet and several cabinets in the kitchen.
Though emotionally difficult (at least for me!), it was an incredible relief to have someone so skilled come in, listen to us and help us figure out what to do! My new husband had recently moved into an apartment I've lived in alone for 13 years and I had been having a hard time getting rid of stuff.
A.J. helped me think through what was really necessary to hold on to, how to get rid of stuff in a way that was palatable, and, by her example, showed me how to actually do the sorting and throwing out that's necessary. At times, it was hard to see someone else go through my stuff, but it was important for me in my effort to let go. My husband had not yet been feeling like this was his home, too, so it was helpful to him to see me get rid of things and make more room for him in the apartment.
Having someone come in to organize you can feel a bit invasive, so it's important to be really ready to do this. For us, it was necessary not only to make our living space work better, but to move past some difficult issues in our new marriage.
A.J. really gets how stuff can get in the way of a relationship and a working, livable space. She asked good questions, came up with workable solutions, listened carefully and jumped right in when we we needed it. My husband and I got more than our money's worth and we highly recommend A.J.

Although I am organized in many areas of my life, I confess that my home is not one of them. When I realized that I needed to get my kitchen in order, I sought out the help of MILLER ORGANIZING.
A.J. began by asking questions about my daily functioning and living. By doing so, she created an atmosphere in which I felt relaxed and understood. She helped me move forward even when I felt overwhelmed by that prospect. Throughout the project, I felt totally supported by her.
My kitchen is orderly now and I am delighted. A.J.'s passion for finding the absolute, best solution for each of my organizing challenges was essential in successfully getting the job done. Addendum:
It is now three years since A.J. brought order and peace to my kitchen
and closets and the high level of organization she brought to my home
has remained intact. For the record, I am still able to easily store
and quickly find items. Given my hectic work schedule, I find it
remarkable that I have been able to maintain the calm established with
A.J. As I have written previously, I feel that working with her was a
wonderful learning experience. On a much smaller scale, though of
meaning to me, I am better able now to create solutions for organizing
dilemmas.
I recently spoke with A.J. about a handbag dilemma I was having. I explained that I always carry more than one bag with the hope, in part, of being able to find what I need in a time efficient manner. Unfortunately, this rarely happens. It is always frustrating and irritating when I have to scramble for things or panic, thinking that I have lost something. Well, no more racing heart. A.J. was able to recommend the perfect handbag designed cleverly with several sections of various sizes that has truly helped me to feel more in control. I now know my “go-to” section for each and every item in my bag. While I have had other bags with various types of pockets, this one is attractive, lightweight, not bulky and super functional.
The organizing journey continues and I am very grateful to know that A.J. is here.

MILLER ORGANIZING has organized several spaces in both my home and office. A.J.'s ability to see potential in spaces/places I would never have dreamed of is remarkable. Most recently, I asked A.J. to organize my clothes closet. Before, it had shoes strewn all over the floor and unused storage in the back of it. Some of my clothes were squeezed onto a long, narrow shelf and the rest were hung up wherever I could fit them in.
Now I have a 5 foot high wall of angled, easy-to-see shoe racks in the wasted space at the back of the closet. The long, narrow shelf has been widened to make it more usable and expandable stacking shelves have been added for additional storage. I have separate tie and belt racks positioned on the inside wall of the closet for easy access and the use of uniform hangers makes the closet look more orderly and neat. My shirts are arranged by sleeve length and color, my pants by season and color. More than once I have discovered clothes that I didn't even know I had. Now, I spend a lot less time finding things and getting dressed in the morning. Since I usually have a busy day ahead of me, I really appreciate that. It's just one less thing that I have to think about.
