Meet The Organizer

A. J. MILLER

Top-rated New York City based Professional Organizer, author and popular motivational speaker

Background & Experience

I'm a former jewelry designer with over 25 years experience running my own
very successful business. Juggling a diverse range of business and creative responsibilities, I learned how to maintain the proper balance between excellence and efficiency and consistently meet - and then exceed - client expectations. I credit that valuable experience with making a significant contribution to my abilities as a skilled organizational consultant.

Realizing how good I was at creating order, organization and systemization - and how thoroughly I enjoyed the challenge of finding effective solutions to any organizing dilemma - I decided to become a Professional Organizer and bring my natural abilities in line with my life and beliefs. I am fortunate and grateful to be able to affect the lives of others in a positive, productive and lasting way.

Education

I'm fortunate to have been one of 500 woman chosen from a field of 20,000

Professional Affiliations

I'm a member in good standing of both the National and New York chapters of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), the premier authority in the field of organizing. I support and practice the Code of Ethics set forth by the organization and actively participate in their continuing education programs and conferences.

I'm a past member of the Board of Directors and past Newsletter Editor of the NAPO New York chapter. I am also the proud recipient of the 2008 NAPO New York President's Award which is given for outstanding contributions to the chapter.

Publications

I write a newspaper column called Getting Organized which is featured regularly in Town & Village, a community newspaper that has been serving the Stuyvesant Town, Peter Cooper Village, East Midtown Plaza, Gramercy Park, Kips Bay, Union Square and Waterside areas of Manhattan for over 60 years.

I also write a blog called Don't Agonize. Organize! about clutter control, paper/information management, time management, living more simply, increasing productivity and other related topics. It also features products and services to help you get - and stay - organized.

In addition, I contribute content to Clutter Control Freak Blog, a multi-expert blog that provides ideas, advice, and news about how to organize your home, office, garden and life with innovative, tested, highly functional, well-designed products.

Public Speaking

I love being a motivational speaker on organizing space, paper, time and goals. It's very rewarding to help people solve the organizational challenges in their lives so they can spend more time doing the things they enjoy and less time looking for their keys!

My presentations are a combination of education, practical how-to organizing tips, motivation, inspiration and humor. The ultimate goal is to inform the audience about simple organizing tools and techniques that can have a big impact on their daily lives. Interacting with individual audience members during the question-and-answer session at the end is always one of my favorite parts!

Please visit our Upcoming Events page to see where I'll be speaking next and what topic I'll be speaking on. To discuss a presentation suited to your specific needs or to book a speaking engagement for your group, organization, company or school, please email us or call us at (212) 228-8375. I can provide quality content for speaking engagements on many organizing-related topics and, as a recognized organizing expert with top-notch writing skills, I can also provide articles, columns and tips for your electronic or print publications.
